My Story

“It all started with a converse and a rolling pin”

Hey there!
My name is Olga and i am the one woman army behind Cookies By O

My cookier journey began in August of 2014. My best friend was getting married and I was helping with planning her bridal shower. I had wanted to do something special for her and I immediately thought of doing some themed cookies for all the guests. And yup you guessed it, my first cookies were converse sneakers!  While I loved to cook, I had never really baked much before this but decided to give it a try. I was immediately hooked! I proceeded to make some bachelorette cookies for her and thought that would be it. I didn’t give it much thought after that but about a year later my friend had someone ask her about the cookies and if I would take an order. I was hesitant as i had only ever done cookies twice before and as a gift, but I accepted.

I’ve always been extremely shy and have high anxiety, but I stumbled upon something I enjoyed and thought I could excel on, so I decided to push my fears aside and see where it would take me. I started my official Facebook page for my new company, Cookies By O, in July 2015.

That first year I mainly did cookies for family, coworkers (I worked in finance at the time), friends and friends of friends. The next year through word of mouth I started to receive more orders and inquiries. The hobby that I stumbled upon by accident, ended up turning into a business that I love. I officially left my job that I enjoyed in the spring of 2018 to pursue this business I created and loved, as well as focus on being a momma to my two amazing little boys.

I love what I do and the fact that I can put such big smiles on the faces of people I’ve just met with a little bit of sugar, butter, eggs, flour and a lot of love. So many of my customers have become like friends to me, and I am so grateful for their continued love and support all these years, new customers and old!

I finally understand the saying “do what you love, and you will never work a day in your life”. Just keep pushing yourself and trying new things, you never know what new talents you can discover about yourself!
